| TOP
MLB SETUP MEN |
| 1.
Fernando Rodney, Angels. |
| He could be
the Angels closer real soon if Brian Fuentes blows another save. |
|
| 2. Frank
Francisco, Rangers |
| He gets
constant work and has been mowing down batters. He hasn't
gotten a save recently, but he can at anytime. |
|
| 3. Evan
Meek, Pirates |
| This guy has
been outstanding. He has 26 Ks and is backing up the often
injured Octavio Dotel. |
|
| 4. Chris
Perez, Indians |
| Back to
backing up Kerry Wood, but he could get the job back at anytime.
Wood is always a candidate for injury or multiple blown saves. |
|
| 5. Jason
Motte, Cardinals |
| Retired 32
batters in a row and his pitching hard and accurate. |
|
|
| 6. Drew Storn,
Nationals |
| With Matt Capps fading,
Storn could be in line for saves. |
|
| 7. Luke Gregerson,
Padres |
| Move over Mike Adams, Luke
Gregerson is the setup man and future closer for the San Diego
Padres or whatever team they trade him too. Gregerson has
been lights out this season with 42 strikeouts, a 1.56 ERA, and a
microscopic 0.46 WHIP. Heath Bell has a solid hold on the job, but
if he fails, Gregerson has the job. |
